Website Designer needed for new youth work organisation (Volunteer/Unpaid Role)
Description
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE ARE AIMING TO DO:
We are creating a new voluntary run youth work project in Edinburgh, which will later become a registered charity and reach out beyond Edinburgh to other parts of Scotland. We are called Scotia Youth.
Scotia Youth is aiming to create a brand new unique and innovative youth work organisation that aims to provide fresh, vibrant, fun, engaging and inspiring youth programmes to young people aged 11 to 25 years old across Edinburgh that empowers young people through activities, programmes and events that UNITE young people and communities for a more equal and tolerant society, EDUCATE young people in life and work skills, social issues and personal development, EMPOWER a generation of Scottish young people to become successful, confident, effective and responsible, and CHANGE the negative stereotypes society can have of young people by promoting the good that young people do.
Youth work changes lives and we believe it’s our job to create a strong, responsive and imaginative youth organisation that puts young people at the heart of what we do and put them in charge of what they want to do, learn and achieve, by giving them the tools and opportunities to contribute to their communities, the wider society, the nation and the wider world.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
As a new voluntary run organisation we are looking for a volunteer Website Designer/Developer who can design us a website that will raise our profile and promote the work that we will be doing. The website needs to be attractive looking, engaging and is for the purpose of encouraging young people and potential volunteers to take part, as well as show potential funders why they should be funding us.
We are looking for a website we can edit easily when needed and we have a few website layouts we like the look of and can give you a better idea of what we want in our organisation colour of Royal Blue and White. The website will be used to promote our new not for profit youth work programme, and gather great interest in our work. We also want to be able to have videos on our website which could come from youtube, as well as a slide show of images on the main page.
You will need to be able to work from home and you will need the required software to carry out the task.
In return we are happy to give you a reference if needed, you can use your finished work in your work portfolio and we will include you in our Annual Report next year as our Website Designer.
Its simple to apply just email us your portfolio if you have one and we will email you back with further info on the needed task.
