Bar/Restaurant Supervisor @ The Bonnington (Leith)
Description
We are a local community bar/restaurant which prides itself on its friendly, hard working and professional staff offering excellent customer service. Our service includes both bar work and waiting as our restaurant continues to get busier by the day. We are looking for an experienced individual to help drive the business forward to the next level.
The Position: Full time bar/restaurant supervisor
This is a key holder position. The successful applicant will have at least one years experience in a restaurant, café or bar offering full table service. Barista, real ale and cocktail experience is desirable but a willingness to learn is acceptable as full training will be provided. The successful candidate must be comfortable working on their own (including opening and closing) as well as managing a small team of employees. We need a strong person who can take control of the unit when the owner is not on site, managing situations such as complaints and when necessary, refusing service of alcohol.
Our Assistant Manager has just stepped down to part time so there is a very real opportunity for the right candidate to take her place and quickly progress up the management ladder.
This is a great opportunity for somebody to join a small independent company where they are able to have a real impact as we move forward.
Full time employees can expect to work 5 days out of 7 including most weekends, must have excellent command of the English language and most of all be reliable. A minimum commitment of one year is expected and full availability through December (we close 25th December) is a must.
What we offer:
Hourly rate of £7.50 per hour (after probationary period)
Full share of tips
Complementary staff meal
Staff Discount on food & drink
Realistic chance of promotion to Assistant Manager with increased hourly wage.
